FAQs
Why should I hire Ryan?
With nearly 20 years experience practicing exclusively in family law, he’s just about seen it all. He’s an OSBA Certified Family Law Specialist, and that’s not easy to do. Only a handful of attorneys in Ohio pass the test and meet those strict requirements. He’s well respected in the Courts and amongst other attorneys. Do you offer a free consultation?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: You’ve heard lawyers on tv and radio advertising free consultations, right? Your consult isn’t a sales pitch here — it’s a meeting to help you make a game plan. We set aside about an hour to hear your story, review any documents you may bring, and help you plan a strategy to get the results you want. You’ll get advice the very first time you talk with Ryan. Because you’re still deciding if we’re a good fit for you, we charge a small fee rather than the regular hourly rate. At the first meeting, if we decide your case isn’t a good fit for Ryan’s area of expertise, or if Ryan doesn’t think he’s the right guy to get you the results you want, we’ll waive the consultation fee. For more info, give us a call.
Where are you located?
Our office is in Grandview, at 1733 W. 3rd Avenue, just 10 minutes from downtown, and convenient to 670 and 315. Get detailed directions here.
Where can I park?
Our office entrance and parking are located in the back of the building. If you map our address, you’ll end up at the Brush & Iron Salon at the front of our building. To get to our door, go south on Westwood Ave. by the Knotty Pine restaurant, then turn left into the alley. You’ll see us on the left before the dead end. You can park right at our door, wherever you can squeeze in.
What should I bring to my first meeting?
Don’t sweat this. You don’t need to bring anything. If legal documents have already been filed and you’ve got them handy, go ahead and bring them for Ryan’s review. Otherwise, Ryan will tell you exactly what info and documentation you’ll need to gather as your case proceeds.
During what hours can I call you?
Unless with a client or in a meeting, Jen generally answers our phone on weekdays from 8:00 - 5:00. When she can’t answer, you’ll roll over to our answering service. They’re great about getting us your messages immediately. After hours and on the weekends, calls go straight to our answering service. They will get ahold of one of us if you’re having an emergency, and we’ll call you back as soon as we’re able.
